Fitting wheels on a Citroen C5

A Citroen C5 (2001–2004) uses a 4x108 or 5x108 PCD and a centre bore of 65.1 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 4x108 or 5x108 required. See all vehicles with 4x108.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 65.1 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 65.1 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET18 to ET30. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread M12x1.25, tightened to 90 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 195/65R15, 215/55R16, 225/60R16. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Vehicles with the same PCD and centre bore

Same 4x108 PCD and same 65.1 mm centre bore: wheels from these vehicles bolt on and centre on a Citroen C5 without rings. Offset, width, diameter and caliper clearance still need checking.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Citroen C5?

A Citroen C5 (2001–2004) can have a 4x108 or 5x108 PCD depending on the version: check on an original wheel.

Does a Citroen C5 need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Citroen C5 is 65.1 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Citroen C5?

The recorded original offset is ET18 to ET30 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

What tightening torque for the wheels of a Citroen C5?

The specified tightening torque is 90 Nm for M12x1.25 fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.

Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Citroen C5?

With the same PCD (4x108) and the same centre bore (65.1 mm), these include: Citroen Ami, Citroen C4 III, Citroen C3 Aircross, Citroen C3 III. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
