Fitting wheels on a Ford F250

A Ford F250 (1999–2007) uses a 8x170 PCD and a centre bore of 124.9 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 8x170 required. See all vehicles with 8x170.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 124.9 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 124.9 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET10 to ET40. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread Ecrous - 14x2.00, tightened to 220 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 245/75R17. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Ford F250?

A Ford F250 (1999–2007) has a PCD of 8x170: 8 studs or bolts spaced around a circle 170 mm in diameter.

Does a Ford F250 need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Ford F250 is 124.9 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Ford F250?

The recorded original offset is ET10 to ET40 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

What tightening torque for the wheels of a Ford F250?

The specified tightening torque is 220 Nm for Ecrous - 14x2.00 fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.

Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Ford F250?

With the same PCD (8x170) and the same centre bore (124.9 mm), these include: Ford Excursion, Ford F150, Ford F350. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
