Fitting wheels on a Mazda RX-7

A Mazda RX-7 (1979–1983) uses a 5x114.3 or 4x110 or 4x114.3 PCD and a centre bore of 59.6 or 67.1 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 5x114.3 or 4x110 or 4x114.3 required. See all vehicles with 5x114.3.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 59.6 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 59.6 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET20 to ET45. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread Ecrous - 12x1.50. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 185/70R13. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Mazda RX-7?

A Mazda RX-7 (1979–1983) can have a 5x114.3 or 4x110 or 4x114.3 PCD depending on the version: check on an original wheel.

Does a Mazda RX-7 need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Mazda RX-7 is 59.6 or 67.1 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Mazda RX-7?

The recorded original offset is ET20 to ET45 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.
