Fitting wheels on a Ford Expedition

A Ford Expedition (2007–2017) uses a 6x135 PCD and a centre bore of 87.1 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 6x135 required. See all vehicles with 6x135.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 87.1 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 87.1 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET44. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread M14x2.00, tightened to 200 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 265/70R17, 275/65R18, 265/70R18. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Ford Expedition?

A Ford Expedition (2007–2017) has a PCD of 6x135: 6 studs or bolts spaced around a circle 135 mm in diameter.

Does a Ford Expedition need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Ford Expedition is 87.1 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Ford Expedition?

The recorded original offset is ET44 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

What tightening torque for the wheels of a Ford Expedition?

The specified tightening torque is 200 Nm for M14x2.00 fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.

Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Ford Expedition?

With the same PCD (6x135) and the same centre bore (87.1 mm), these include: Ford F150, Lincoln Mark LT, Lincoln Navigator. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
