Fitting wheels on a Chevrolet Equinox

A Chevrolet Equinox (2004–2009) uses a 5x115 or 5x120 PCD and a centre bore of 70.3 or 66.8 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 5x115 or 5x120 required. See all vehicles with 5x115.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 70.3 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 70.3 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET41 to ET46. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread Ecrous - 12x1.50, tightened to 120 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.

Vehicles with the same PCD and centre bore

Same 5x115 PCD and same 70.3 mm centre bore: wheels from these vehicles bolt on and centre on a Chevrolet Equinox without rings. Offset, width, diameter and caliper clearance still need checking.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Chevrolet Equinox?

A Chevrolet Equinox (2004–2009) can have a 5x115 or 5x120 PCD depending on the version: check on an original wheel.

Does a Chevrolet Equinox need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Chevrolet Equinox is 70.3 or 66.8 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Chevrolet Equinox?

The recorded original offset is ET41 to ET46 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

What tightening torque for the wheels of a Chevrolet Equinox?

The specified tightening torque is 120 Nm for Ecrous - 12x1.50 fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.

Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Chevrolet Equinox?

With the same PCD (5x115) and the same centre bore (70.3 mm), these include: Chevrolet Volt, Chevrolet Orlando, Chevrolet Cruze Diesel, Chevrolet Captiva. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
