A Mini Cooper R56 (2006–2014) uses a 4x100 PCD and a centre bore of 56.1 mm.
Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.
Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 56.1 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 56.1 mm.
Offset: the original is ET42 to ET48. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
Fixings: thread M14x1.25, tightened to 140 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
Tyres: original fitment is 175/65R15, 175/60R16, 195/55R16, 185/50R17. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).
Generations of the Mini Cooper
Previous generation: Mini Cooper R52 Cabriolet (2004–2008) — same 4x100 bolt pattern and same centre bore: original wheels swap between the two generations; check offset and diameter. Next generation: Mini Cooper R57 Cabriolet (2009–2015) — same 4x100 bolt pattern and same centre bore: original wheels swap between the two generations; check offset and diameter.
The original specs vary with the year, trim or wheel size. Identify your version from the tyre size marked on the sidewall.

Vehicles with the same PCD and centre bore
Same 4x100 PCD and same 56.1 mm centre bore: wheels from these vehicles bolt on and centre on a Mini Cooper R56 without rings. Offset, width, diameter and caliper clearance still need checking.
These vehicles also use 4x100 but with a different centre bore: their wheels need a hub centric ring if their centre bore is larger than 56.1 mm, and will not fit if it is smaller.
A Mini Cooper R56 (2006–2014) has a PCD of 4x100: 4 studs or bolts spaced around a circle 100 mm in diameter.
Does a Mini Cooper R56 need a hub centric ring?
The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Mini Cooper R56 is 56.1 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.
What offset (ET) for a Mini Cooper R56?
The recorded original offset is ET42 to ET48 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.
What tightening torque for the wheels of a Mini Cooper R56?
The specified tightening torque is 140 Nm for M14x1.25 fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.
Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Mini Cooper R56?
With the same PCD (4x100) and the same centre bore (56.1 mm), these include: Mini Roadster R59, Mini Coupe, Mini Cooper R57 Cabriolet, Mini Cooper Clubman. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
