Fitting wheels on a Ford Escort

A Ford Escort (1980–1985) uses a 4x108 PCD and a centre bore of 63.4 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 4x108 required. See all vehicles with 4x108.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 63.4 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 63.4 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET29 to ET41. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread M12x1.50. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 175/70R13, 155/80R13, 175/70R14. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Vehicles with the same PCD and centre bore

Same 4x108 PCD and same 63.4 mm centre bore: wheels from these vehicles bolt on and centre on a Ford Escort without rings. Offset, width, diameter and caliper clearance still need checking.

Will wheels from another vehicle fit your Escort?

Choose the vehicle the wheels come from: we compare the hub, then each original wheel to the millimetre.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Ford Escort?

A Ford Escort (1980–1985) has a PCD of 4x108: 4 studs or bolts spaced around a circle 108 mm in diameter.

Does a Ford Escort need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Ford Escort is 63.4 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Ford Escort?

The recorded original offset is ET29 to ET41 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Ford Escort?

With the same PCD (4x108) and the same centre bore (63.4 mm), these include: Ford Fiesta MK8, Ford EcoSport, Ford B Max, Ford Fiesta MK7. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
