Fitting wheels on a Renault Megane 2 RS

A Renault Megane 2 RS (2004–2009) uses a 5x108 PCD and a centre bore of 60.1 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 5x108 required. See all vehicles with 5x108.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 60.1 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 60.1 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET68. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread M14x1.5, tightened to 105 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 225/45R17, 225/40R18, 235/40R18. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Generations of the Renault Megane

Previous generation: Renault Megane 2 (2002–2009) — the bolt pattern changes (5x108 instead of 4x100): the wheels are not interchangeable. Next generation: Renault Megane 3 (2008–2016) — the bolt pattern changes (5x114.3 instead of 5x108): the wheels are not interchangeable.

Vehicles with the same PCD and centre bore

Same 5x108 PCD and same 60.1 mm centre bore: wheels from these vehicles bolt on and centre on a Renault Megane 2 RS without rings. Offset, width, diameter and caliper clearance still need checking.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Renault Megane 2 RS?

A Renault Megane 2 RS (2004–2009) has a PCD of 5x108: 5 studs or bolts spaced around a circle 108 mm in diameter.

Does a Renault Megane 2 RS need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Renault Megane 2 RS is 60.1 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Renault Megane 2 RS?

The recorded original offset is ET68 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

What tightening torque for the wheels of a Renault Megane 2 RS?

The specified tightening torque is 105 Nm for M14x1.5 fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.

Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Renault Megane 2 RS?

With the same PCD (5x108) and the same centre bore (60.1 mm), these include: Renault Kangoo 2 5 trou, Renault Clio Sport, Renault Megane 2.0 dCi, Renault Espace IV. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
