Fitting wheels on a Jeep Cherokee

A Jeep Cherokee (2014–2024) uses a 5x114.3 or 5x110 or 5x127 PCD and a centre bore of 65.1 or 71.6 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 5x114.3 or 5x110 or 5x127 required. See all vehicles with 5x114.3.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 71.6 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 71.6 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET41 to ET45. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread Ecrous - 1/2 - 20 UN, tightened to 135 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 225/60R17, 225/65R17, 235/70R16. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Jeep Cherokee?

A Jeep Cherokee (2014–2024) can have a 5x114.3 or 5x110 or 5x127 PCD depending on the version: check on an original wheel.

Does a Jeep Cherokee need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Jeep Cherokee is 65.1 or 71.6 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Jeep Cherokee?

The recorded original offset is ET41 to ET45 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

What tightening torque for the wheels of a Jeep Cherokee?

The specified tightening torque is 135 Nm for Ecrous - 1/2 - 20 UN fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.

Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Jeep Cherokee?

With the same PCD (5x114.3) and the same centre bore (71.6 mm), these include: Jeep Liberty, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Cherokee XJ, Jeep Grand Cherokee. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
