Fitting wheels on a Jeep Commander

A Jeep Commander (2006–2010) uses a 5x127 or 5x110 PCD and a centre bore of 71.6 or 65.1 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 5x127 or 5x110 required. See all vehicles with 5x127.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 71.6 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 71.6 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET40 to ET50. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread Ecrous - 1/2 - 20 UN, tightened to 136 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 235/55R18. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Vehicles with the same PCD and centre bore

Same 5x127 PCD and same 71.6 mm centre bore: wheels from these vehicles bolt on and centre on a Jeep Commander without rings. Offset, width, diameter and caliper clearance still need checking.

Will wheels from another vehicle fit your Commander?

Choose the vehicle the wheels come from: we compare the hub, then each original wheel to the millimetre.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Jeep Commander?

A Jeep Commander (2006–2010) can have a 5x127 or 5x110 PCD depending on the version: check on an original wheel.

Does a Jeep Commander need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Jeep Commander is 71.6 or 65.1 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Jeep Commander?

The recorded original offset is ET40 to ET50 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

What tightening torque for the wheels of a Jeep Commander?

The specified tightening torque is 136 Nm for Ecrous - 1/2 - 20 UN fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.

Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Jeep Commander?

With the same PCD (5x127) and the same centre bore (71.6 mm), these include: Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Journey, Dodge Charger. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
