Fitting wheels on a Suzuki Alto

A Suzuki Alto (1985–1995) uses a 4x114.3 or 4x100 PCD and a centre bore of 60.1 or 54.1 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 4x114.3 or 4x100 required. See all vehicles with 4x114.3.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 60.1 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 60.1 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET38 to ET45. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread Ecrous - 12x1.25, tightened to 100 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 155/70R12, 165/55R14, 155/65R14. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Suzuki Alto?

A Suzuki Alto (1985–1995) can have a 4x114.3 or 4x100 PCD depending on the version: check on an original wheel.

Does a Suzuki Alto need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Suzuki Alto is 60.1 or 54.1 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Suzuki Alto?

The recorded original offset is ET38 to ET45 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

What tightening torque for the wheels of a Suzuki Alto?

The specified tightening torque is 100 Nm for Ecrous - 12x1.25 fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.

Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Suzuki Alto?

With the same PCD (4x114.3) and the same centre bore (60.1 mm), these include: Suzuki Carry, Suzuki Swift, Subaru Justy, Toyota Celica. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
