Fitting wheels on a Mazda 121

A Mazda 121 (1988–1991) uses a 4x114.3 or 4x100 or 4x108 PCD and a centre bore of 59.6 or 54.1 or 63.4 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 4x114.3 or 4x100 or 4x108 required. See all vehicles with 4x114.3.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 59.6 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 59.6 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET43 to ET45. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread Ecrous - 12x1.50, tightened to 103 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 155/70R13. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Mazda 121?

A Mazda 121 (1988–1991) can have a 4x114.3 or 4x100 or 4x108 PCD depending on the version: check on an original wheel.

Does a Mazda 121 need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Mazda 121 is 59.6 or 54.1 or 63.4 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Mazda 121?

The recorded original offset is ET43 to ET45 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

What tightening torque for the wheels of a Mazda 121?

The specified tightening torque is 103 Nm for Ecrous - 12x1.50 fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.

With the same PCD (4x114.3) and the same centre bore (59.6 mm), these include: Mazda 626, Mazda RX-7, Mazda 323, Mazda 929. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
