Fitting wheels on a Rover 800-Serie

A Rover 800-Serie (1986–1991) uses a 4x114.3 PCD and a centre bore of 64.1 mm. Any wheel must match the vehicle's PCD exactly: there is no tolerance, unless you use a PCD adapter.

  • PCD: 4x114.3 required. See all vehicles with 4x114.3.
  • Centre bore: the wheel must have a centre bore of 64.1 mm or more. If it is larger (as with most aftermarket wheels), add a hub centric ring wheel centre bore → 64.1 mm.
  • Offset: the original is ET50. Compare your future wheel with the offset calculator (your vehicle is already selected) to see how many millimetres further in or out it will sit.
  • Fixings: thread Ecrous - 12x1.50, tightened to 110 Nm. The nuts or bolts must have the same seat (conical, spherical or flat) as the wheel.
  • Tyres: original fitment is 195/65R15. For another size, check the diameter difference with the equivalence calculator (under 3 % recommended).

Frequently asked questions

What is the PCD of a Rover 800-Serie?

A Rover 800-Serie (1986–1991) has a PCD of 4x114.3: 4 studs or bolts spaced around a circle 114.3 mm in diameter.

Does a Rover 800-Serie need a hub centric ring?

The centre bore (hub diameter) of a Rover 800-Serie is 64.1 mm. A wheel with a larger centre bore is fitted with a hub centric ring that brings it down to the hub diameter. A wheel with a smaller centre bore cannot be fitted.

What offset (ET) for a Rover 800-Serie?

The recorded original offset is ET50 depending on the version and wheel size. A lower ET pushes the wheel outwards, a higher ET pulls it inwards: check wheel well and caliper clearance before making any change.

What tightening torque for the wheels of a Rover 800-Serie?

The specified tightening torque is 110 Nm for Ecrous - 12x1.50 fixings. Tighten in a criss-cross pattern with a torque wrench and check the tightness again after about fifty kilometres.

Which vehicles have the same PCD as a Rover 800-Serie?

With the same PCD (4x114.3) and the same centre bore (64.1 mm), these include: Rover 600-Serie, Honda Prelude 4 trou, Acura Legend, Honda Legend. Offset, width and rim diameter still need checking for each vehicle.
